As a functional food， dietary fiber plays a variety of physiological functions in the human body and is of great significance to maintain human health. Functional gastrointestinal diseases (FGIDs) are a group of functional gastrointestinal diseases that are chronic or recurrent without organic changes. It not only seriously affects the life quality of patients， but also increases their mental pressure and economic burden. In recent years， the potential role of dietary therapy in the treatment of FGIDs has attracted more and more attention. Increasing the intake of dietary fiber can prevent human gastrointestinal diseases and maintain gastrointestinal health. This paper reviews the research progress of dietary fiber in the prevention and treatment of FGIDs， we aim to provide new dietary therapy strategies for the prevention and treatment of FGIDs.
