    Abstract:

Objective: To investigate the improvement of glycolipid metabolism in mice with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) induced by polyphenol extract from mung bean sprout. Methods: C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into normal control group, model group, high, medium and low dose groups of germinated mung bean polyphenol extract and positive control group. A mouse model of type 2 diabetes was established by high fat diet combined with intraperitoneal injection of Streptozotocin (STZ). After continuous gavage for 5 weeks, fasting blood glucose, glucose tolerance, organ index, blood lipid level and liver morphology were measured. Results: during the experiment, compared with the model group, the polyphenol extract of germinated mung bean could reduce the fasting blood glucose and significantly improve the glucose tolerance of mice (P<0.01); Improve the concentration of serum lipid indexes (TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C) in T2DM mice(P<0.01); The activity of ALT and AST in serum of mice was reduced, and the morphology of liver tissue in STZ induced diabetic mice was repaired. Conclusion: a certain dose of germinated mung bean polyphenols extract can effectively improve the symptoms of hyperglycemia and dyslipidemia in type 2 diabetic mice.
