    Abstract:

Alcoholic liver disease is a liver disease caused by heavy or high frequency of alcohol consumption, which initially manifests as alcoholic fatty liver, and progresses to alcoholic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and even liver cancer. Alcoholism can lead to liver cell death and liver failure. At present, the search for effective active ingredients to prevent or improve alcoholic liver disease has become a research hotspot. Polyphenols are widely found in vegetables, fruits, cereals et al., and affect the intervention of alcoholic liver disease. However, the intervention effect on alcoholic liver disease has rarely been systematically discussed. In this review, the pathogenesis of alcoholic liver disease and the regulation mechanism of food-borne polyphenols that could interfere with alcoholic liver injury were summary to provide a theoretical basis for the research and develop polyphenol health food with the effect of alleviating alcoholic liver injury.
